This week, my son Ned (AKA @a_lego_son):
- You’re a grown-up for goodness sake, what are you still doing playing with Lego?
I’m not a grown-up! But whatever age I am, I’m sure I will always enjoy collecting Lego. (Also, it’s the only way I can get you to love me and give me any attention!).
- When you’re not playing with children’s toys, what do you enjoy doing?
I like watching TV and playing video games. I am also a diver!
- What is your favourite song?
Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana.
- What is your favourite film?
I can’t choose between Toy Story 3 and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
- What is your favourite TV show?
Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
- What is your favourite book?
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
- What was your first Lego set?
An Indiana Jones set that my Dad got me on the day I was born.
- What is your happiest Lego-related memory?
Coming home from my first day at primary school and being given a Duplo Winnie-the-Pooh set.
- What has been your biggest Lego-related disappointment?
Queuing for an hour and a half to go on a dragon rollercoaster at Legoland Windsor when I was 6 and then being told that I was too little to go on it (the signs weren’t displayed properly for some reason). [To be fair, when we complained they let Ned go on the ride anyway and gave us complimentary tickets to come back to the park another day, but he was pretty distraught at the time and has never quite forgiven me . . . ].
- What is your biggest Lego-related ambition?
To build a proper Lego City, with lots of different streets, as many mini figures as possible, and a train going round it!
- What would be your ideal Lego-related job?
To be a builder at Legoland or the Lego House.
- What is your favourite brick?
Just the classic 2×1!
- What is your favourite Lego set that you already have?
The U-Wing from Star Wars: Rogue One (Set #75155)
- Which Lego set do you most crave?
The Death Star (Set #10188)
